Happy Christmas see you in the New Year

We’d like to wish everyone a Happy Christmas – that’s Holidays to you in the US – and a very Happy New Year. We will be back in the New Year with more of the same.

As it’s Christmas we though we would point you at two mobile-related charities and appeals.

Give your old phones to Broadway and help the London homeless

Broadway (http://www.broadwaylondon.org) is a leading London homelessness charity, and has launched “Homes For Phones”, an innovative campaign which encourages people to donate their unwanted mobile phones to raise much needed funds.

The charity will receive a minimum of £3 for every mobile phone it receives, and with an estimated 80 million redundant mobile phones in the UK currently, the campaign has the potential to raise a lot of money. However, the charity is under no illusions about the challenge it faces.

Rebecca Sycamore, Broadway’s Director of Fundraising and Marketing, commented: “The money raised from the campaign will help fund our work with homeless people in London, helping them to find and keep a home and supporting them into training and work. As well as donated phones we also looking for commercial sponsors, so if anyone would like to get involved in the campaign we’d love to hear from them.”

Go dig in your draws and send in those spare mobile phones.
