Working on the move using a 3G dongle has become a way of life for many people, and for most the service works really well. But, where it tends to screw up is when you go abroad. A SIM for every country and an account with every Wifi cloud provider is something only the well-heeled can afford. However there’s now a new Payg solution that should solve all of your problems.
Trustive’s new mobile internet service combines the best of Wifi with a 3G data roaming service that is available in 85+ countries via one flexible and low-cost pass. The purely prepaid service promises users “no subscription accounts whatsoever” and “no hidden costs” and includes an “easy online top-up facility”, and 24/7 access to a real-time account usage figures.
Credit paid into the Trustive system is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, with WiFi access changed on a per minute basis with no download quotas on 140,000 WiFi hotspots in 70+ countries, and a 3G mobile broadband service in 70+ countries, with connection speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps.
3G mobile broadband access costs
€0.80 per session plus :
€1.5 per MB in Zone A (Europe, US, SA, Nordics, Egypt, India, China)
€15 per MB in Zone B (rest of the World)
Billing is dependent on where you connect from (Zone A or Zone B) and is based on the quantity of data you upload & download (in 100KB increments) whilst connected, regardless of the duration of your session
WiFi access is priced at € 0.09 per minute
It sounds very good to us. Anyone have any experience of Trustive out there?
Update: Apologies to Trustive they have 140K Wifi hotspots not 40K as first reported.
