There’s a week to go to the official launch and the UK iPad site on iTunes has gone live. There’s some UK content in there but the pricing is in US dollars and cents, and the majority of the content is still US.
In a report by web site ElectricPig they found a different look and feel with apps such as App for Cooks and The Official England app being present. They also found an iBooks Store, which now doesn’t seem to be present, although earlier the store was bare. When a search for the iBooks app in the iPad App Store was made they were greeted with two links – one marked Learn More, the other Get iBooks. But sadly neither link worked.
Apple has said iBooks will be available in time for the iPad UK launch, so expect the ebooks to start appearing soon and the rest of the iPad app store to fill up even more.
