O2 have the drop on the rest of the networks with today’s announcement that they’re getting the exclusive on the Dell Streak.
The launch date is described by both Dell and O2 as “early next month” with the Streak being sold in O2 stores, online at O2 and Carphone Warehouse.
“The Dell Streak is a bold new class of product, something we wanted to bring to our customers first,” said Steve Alder, O2’s General Manager Devices. “This means we can continue to offer our customers a range of the very best devices to make their lives a bit easier.” Which roughly translated into English means “now we don’t have an exclusive on the iPhone, and with the launch of the 4G so close we need a fall back option and the Dell looks like the best of the Android phones and Android is pretty hot right now.”
Pricing and tariff information will be released ahead of launch.
The full Dell Streak specifications:
- Google Android
- 1GHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
- 3G, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth
- 5MP autofocus camera with dual LED flash.
- Expandable memory via Micro SD cards, up to 32GB capacity
- 5 inch touch screen
We can’t wait to see it, if it’s anything as good as the HTC Desire – our new favourite phone and the phone that seems to have nailed Android best – then it’ll be a winner.[ad name=”Google Text half banner advert “]
