Jamie Oliver is in Apple’s top five apps of the year

Mmmmmm that's the smell of a WINNER!!

The Apple WWDC jamboree is finally over for another year, and to mark the end of the fun they just awarded prizes for the apps they consider to be the very best of the best.

Each year, Apple awards the iPhone apps that have excelled in design, whatever type of app or game they might be. Here are this year’s winners (they come in no particular order but we’re biased so the brit app gets first billing) —

  • 20 Minute Meals — Mockney chef’ Jamie Oliver’s app that features some of his bish-bosh super-smashing recipes in glorious video (more at http://www.jamieoliver.com/20-minute-meals/)
  • Articles — an app that reformats Wikipedia articles to make them look just right on your iPhone’s screen
  • Brushes — painting tool with natural-style brushes to give realstic-looking artistic results
  • Doodle Jump — the ultimate iPhone casual game from Lima Sky, still played by millions
  • Real Racing — realistic racing action from Firemint, broke new ground when it arrived a year ago

If you think they should have picked some other apps in this year’s best iPhone apps list or there’s an app you want to wax lyrical about, then please tell us in the comments below.

Full details are here
