Vyke Mobile, the global mobile Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) provider, has just launched a UK specific service with a new UK website, and a new range of competitive mobile VoIP pricing services for the UK.
As with most VoIP service Vyke customers can make free calls over WiFi and 3G to other Vyke customers , as well as low cost calls to a large variety of global destinations. Rates have been reduced by up to 43% to key destinations for UK customers. Calls start at just 1 pence per minute and SMS’ start at 4.2 pence.
Additional savings can been made using the Vyke Zone which includes 15 top landline destinations in Europe and North America that can be called for just 6 pence per hour. The full list of countries includes in the Vyke Zone includes USA, UK, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece,Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.
Vyke is so confident about their service that they’re offering new customers 50 pence free credit to try before they buy, all they need to do is to create their account, and download the Vyke software.
Vyke supports the majority of mobile handsets on the market today, with software specifically tailored for Symbian, Java, RIM and iPhone operating systems and there’s a planned imminent release of an Android application.
My Nigeria Mobile
This is the second launch in a week from Vyke, last week they launched My Nigeria Mobile, an innovative solution for the UK/Nigerian market. The My Nigeria Mobile service allows a caller in the UK to call a dedicated mobile phone in Nigeria at significantly reduced call costs. With the purchase of a My Nigeria Mobile starter pack, the recipient of the calls in Nigeria gets a free mobile phone (to receive calls) and the UK customer gets 7-days free calls to the Nigerian mobile phone.
The package acquired from BLS Wireless is priced at £19.99 (including VAT) and is aimed at the Nigerian expatriate community, which is estimated to be more than 150,000 in the UK. Vyke plans to roll out more country specific products, Mohammad Asif, Chief Executive of Vyke, said: “We hope that this will be the first of a number of My Country Mobile products to be launched targeting specific countries around the world with this concept in low priced calls.” Adding “Targeting these communities head-on with products like My Country Mobile is a huge opportunity for Vyke”.
