The GSMA has announced the nominees for the 16th Annual Global Mobile Awards and it’s a good mix of the usual suspects, the blatantly obvious and some real gems.
The hotly contested device and manufacturer awards are probably an easy win for Apple. In the best device the iPhone 4 is up against the HTC Desire, LG Optimus 7, BlackBerry Torch 4 and the Samsung Galaxy S, and in the manufacturer of the year they’re up against HTC and Samsung.
The app of the year on iPhone and Android will probably go to Facebook, because there’s no Angrybirds!!Best overall mobile app we think will be Spotify, the rest is hard to decide, but good luck to everyone.
The winners will be announced during an afternoon awards ceremony and evening party on Tuesday 15th February 2011 at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.Where Jonathon Ross will compere and hip Canadian indie-math-rockers Metric will “thrill” the audience.
