Ovi Store hits 2.3 million downloads a day

Nokia’s Ovi Store seems to be in rude health if the blog post says what we think it says.

According to Nokia the number of active Nokia Ovi service users has reached 140 million worldwide, with more than 200,000 people signing up daily to Ovi, with the Ovi Store reaching 2.3 million downloads per day.

While the figure is big, 2.3 million a day equates to 840 million downloads a year, it does – we think – also include downloads in the music, maps, and file store. However the really encouraging news for developers is the 70 or so developers and publishers each surpassing the million download mark for their content in the Ovi Store.

Developers and publishers reaching and moving past this milestone include Digital Chocolate, Electronic Arts, Gameloft, Indiagames, PepsiCo, Qik, Shazam, HeroCraft and Offscreen Technologies. HeroCraft, who publish the game Farm Frenzy, has received more than 10 million downloads, and Offscreen, a developer of a variety of touchscreen apps, has more than 45 million.

The 70 apps passing the 1 million mark includes;
