The tizi brings live TV to your iPhone/iPad

The equinux tizi brings digital TV (DVB-T/TNT/DTT) directly to the iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch via an integrated wi-fi hotspot.

Getting live TV on your iPhone and iPad is on many people’s wish list, and now it’s possible, with a handy wi-fi TV transmitter from German manufacturers equinux.

The pocket-sized tizi device, costs 149.95 Euros (£127.24) and has a replaceable Lithium-Ion battery with a life of up to 3.5 hours from a single charge, additional batteries are available. It can be recharged via USB or by using the iPad/iPhone power adapter.

To view programmes on the go, all you have to do is turn the tizi unit on, select its pre-configured wi-fi network and start the app on your iPhone or iPad.

Users will need to download the free tizi app to their iOS4 device from the tizi.tv website. The app provides a basic EPG TV guide and also allows programmes to be recorded and stored for later playback, or copied via iTunes directly to a Mac or PC.

The equinux tizi is available now from the tizi website and from Apple stores. It will be available from other Apple resellers from January 2011.

Please Santa can we have one?
