Dixons almost sold out of iPads

If you don’t have an Apple store in your town and you want to get an iPad from PC World then forget it. iPad wi-fi versions are available in slightly larger quantities than the 3G versions but we’re talking one or two more. If you want a 3G version you need to spend the full £699 on a 64Gb version and you have to be able to travel North – unless you are already North.

We just did a search of the major conurbations Birmingham, London, Liverpool, Newcastle, Cardiff, Manchester, Bristol even Brighton and they’re out of stock practically everywhere.

We tried all versions of the iPad in all the 8 areas above, and in the 50 miles around those areas and these are the results.

iPad Wi-Fi clustering in the South

16Gb Wi-Fi versions are available for £429 at
PCW Colliers Wood
PCW Bath
PCW Kingston
Currys Brooklands

There were no 32Gb Wi-fi versions at £499 available anywhere in the UK

64Gb Wi-fi versions are available for £599 at
PCW Solihull
PCW Tunbridge Wells
PCW Weston Supermare
PCW Cabot Circus Bristol

NO 3G apart from the North East and the far North East of Scotland

16Gb Wi-fi and 3G versions at £529 were all sold out everywhere
32Gb Wi-fi and 3G versions at £599 were all sold out everywhere
64Gb Wi-fi and 3G versions at £699 were all sold out everywhere apart from PCW Kircaldy, PCW Dundee, PCW North Shields

Good luck and ring ahead if you want to reserve an iPad

Rather tritely PC World have included the iPad in the eReaders section where they sit with Sony and cases from Belkin and Griffin.
